This very rich Napoleon III style mirror was made of gilt bronze in the second half of the 19th century.
The curved and countercurved frame with a very Rococo decoration frames two mirrors with beveled glass. In this decoration composed mainly with shells, acanthus leaves and other plants, are distinguished on the upper part a small child bust and on the lower part a delicate butterfly.
The Baroque aesthetic of our mirror is enhanced by the quality of the gilding and the carving.
