This Directoire style fireplace dates from the Empire , at the beginning of the 19th century. In Carrara marble, it is decorated with characteristic ornaments of the Empire style: rosettes, pineapples, stylized palmettes arranged in a regular design. The jambs and the entablature are carved with relief panels and cut into diamonds so as to receive the Empire ornaments.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but could be made to order.
