This beautiful antique Louis XV style fireplace was made out of white Carrara marble, subtly veined, during the 19th century. The canted jambs are decorated with windings and are carved with acanthus leaves and reversed shells. The center of the frieze which is made of curves and counter-curves has a sculpted reversed shell and garlands of flowers.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
