Original design for a Louis XVI style model mantel in Arabescato marble from the 19th century. The slightly curved tapered jambs are adorned with falling laurel leaves held up by a foliage cartouche. A protruding rectangular center piece, bearing two sunflowers linked by a garland of laurel leaves, adorns the frieze of the entablature. Identical sunflowers adorn the heads of the jambs. This mantel presents a beautiful quality of sculpture, in relief and in depth, with much care for detail.
This mantel comes with its enameled insert, decorated with flowers set in a honeycomb pattern, and its marble hearth floor.
