This Louis XVI style mantel was carved in the second half of the 19th century in a Carrara marble called "semi-statuary". Its simple paneled entablature is decorated with gilded bronze acanthus leaves. Two square rosettes, also in gilded bronze, are placed at the ends. The slightly curved jambs are fluted, rudented and adorned with bronze asparagus.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert and with its marble floor.
