This fireplace was made in the 19th century in veined Carrara marble.
The stop fluted pilasters are characteristic of the neo-classical Louis XVI style. The mantel is carved with this motif on endblocks and tapered jambs restings on footblocks.
The cast iron insert is topped by a laurel wreath and olive branches, on each sides scrollwork, wreath and garlands. Framed by a frieze of plants.
This fireplace is sold with an antique cast iron insert with a cracke but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
