The design of this antique fireplace from the 19th century is quite rare and exceptional. Made out of Statuary Carrara marble, this Louis XVI style fireplace features a curved shape. The entablature is sculpted with a very fine row of pearls, connected in a line. The jambs are canted: they feature a large curve in the lower part, they are fluted, filleted and carved with asparagus heads. The sides of the fireplace, also curved, are paneled and feature carved pearls.
This fireplace is sold with an antique cast iron insert but without any marble floor. A marble floor could be made to order.
