This fireplace is a very rare model and was made during the 18th century. From the Louis XVI style and period, it is made out of a beautiful Carrara Statuary marble.
Two columns caved in the round towards the bottom are a very rate style, and make up the feet of this fireplace. Placed on a pedestal, two columns are decorated with twisted fluted, winding around the columns, and made up of acanthus leaves. Small ring capitals are decorated with floral medallions. The entablature of the fireplace is enhanced with a fine line of pearls linked by "a thread". A thread of marble, completely jumping out from the fireplace, links the pearls together, a very rare detail. The heads of the jambs are decorated with carved rosettes.
This fireplace is sold with its 19th century marble floor but without any fireplace insert.
