This exceptional antique Louis XVI style fireplace features an astonishing carved decor. Made out of beautiful Carrare Semi-Statuaire marble during the 19th century, this fireplace is rather elegant. The entablature is elaborately carved with a frieze of realistic flowers, all different, framing a central pediment which is carved with a garland of flowers. The jambs feature a curve towards the bottom and are decorated with acanthus leaves. A ribbon runs along the jambs. The heads of the entablature are decorated with floral medallions. The sides of the fireplace are paneled.
This fireplace is sold with an antique cast iron insert but without any marble floor. A marble floor could be made to order.
