This beautiful monumental Neo-Renaissance style fireplace was made out of carved walnut in the nineteenth century.
It features a monumental overmantel shaped like a hood, which in reality opens to serve as a chest. It is supported by two Ionic columns surmounted by coats of arms; it presents two square panels decorated with a head of a man wearing a feathered hat and a woman's head covered with mats and a crown, facing each other. The walnut sculpture is quite precise. The two panels are alternated with chimeras and vegetable ornaments, and finally the hood is adorned with a lion blazon.
This fireplace comes with its superb original painted enameled insert.
