The gilt is a little weary and some small parts are missing.
This antique gilt and painted Louis XVI style overmantel pierglass was made in the 19th century. While laurel branches curl and climb at the bottom, large flowers tied by a ribbon adorn the upper part. A beautiful ribbon characteristic of the Louis XVI style takes center stage. A frieze of egg-and-dart and a border of pearls frame the mirror.
