Castiron fireback from 1910 presenting Cupid flying away, abandoning his quiver of arrows, framed in an oculus. A reclining woman calls him in vain. An abundance of vigorously carved Louis XIV style decorative elements, elongated palms, shells, swirls of foliage and masks of fauns creates a complex composition, similar to the grotesque style.
A resembling fireback is depicted in the book on firebacks by Henri Carpentier, Les Plaques de cheminées, T.I, Paris, 1967, page129.
