Half-moon shaped Louis XVI style mantel from the 19th century in Carrara marble. The front of this mantel is slightly protruding and beautifully enhanced by a molded frame. The entablature is adorned with recessed molded panels that flank a central sun flower in a molded circle. The heads, on a curve, are decorated with Neo-Classical square rosettes, and rest upon canted fluted jambs with wisps of wheat. The shelf follows the curves of the mantel creating a sense of harmony and elegance typical of the Louis XVI style.
