Elegant half-moon Louis XVI style mantel from the 19th century. The front is slightly protruding and enhanced by a frame with moldings. At the center of the frieze, in a delicately molded frame, laurel branches linked together with a ribbon tied in a bow, reach out towards the sides, against a chiseled rectangular backdrop. At each end of the frieze, on the rounded sides, the heads of the jambs are adorned with neo-classical rectangular rosettes. The jambs are rounded fluted and filleted pilasters. The shelf echoes the lines of the protruding entablature and the curves of the jambs, creating a harmonious and elegant composition faithful in spirit to the Louis XVI.style. Carved in veined Carrara marble the mantel comes with its iron insert adorned with trophies hanging from ribbons and its two tone marble hearth floor.
