This antique fireplace was made in Arabescato marble in the second half of the 19th century.
Its decoration is characteristic of the eclectism during the Second Empire. The fluted acroterion model, in vogue under the reign of Louis XIV, is taken for its shape while the decoration is typical of the Louis XVI style. Indeed, we see the roses on the upper corners of the jambs and a central panel on the entablature adorned with flowers garlands.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
