This beautiful Louis XVI style mantel was made in Carrara marble during the 19th century.
The top shelf rests on an entablature carved in the center and on both corners with paterae. The angled jambs are flutted and carved with foliated rudentures.
On each sides of the chimney gilt circular hinged ventilation ports.
The modern cast iron insert is embellished with scrollworks.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This could be made to order.
