Beautiful antique Louis XVI style fireplace made iduring the 19th century out of Carrara marble. The frieze of the fireplace, slightly projecting, is very richly carved with flowers medallions enrolled in interlacing ribbons. All flowers are different from each other and are carved very realistically, demonstrating mastery of a true sculptor.
Winding legs in their upper part are adorned with an acanthus leaf fall and a ribbon wound running along the jamb.
Both sides of the fireplace are paneled.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
