Japanese style cylinder desk made in the late 19th century. It is decorated with traditional Asian scenes and floral motifs inlaid with mother-of-pearl and ivory. On the apron are two drawers with bronze handles depicting characters in relief. The cylinder reveals four drawers. It is topped by a display cabinet. The desk is based on four claw feet, joined by a stretcher.
