Set of four Japanese style nesting tables made in the 19th century. The jambs and stretchers are decorated with characteristic openwork interlacing. The trays of each table are decorated in metal marquetry with naturalistic scenes directly inspired by Japanese prints. Thus, in hilly flowered landscapes, we observe small animals: mice, storks, snails, birds, rabbits ... Very nice quality of the polychrome metal marquetry.
