This beautiful fireplace was made out of oak during the 18th century. Its rich decoration is very characteristic of Louis XV style with ornaments such as palmettes and water leaves on the frieze, mouldings, paneled frieze and jambs or little flowers inserted in rounded medallions at the center of the jambs. This decoration, rich and elegant, is finely sculpted. It brings grace to the fireplace. The paint on this fireplace (which is on sale in its condition) is old so it bears a beautiful patina.
