Stained glass window from the 50’s with an abstract design, and a dominant red hue. This window echoes the art of the 50’s, a period that showed a renewed interest for stained glass windows with artists inspired by the new possibilities offered by architecture based on iron and concrete freed from classical religious designs. In the late 30’s, several artists submitted cartoons for the stained glass windows of the church of Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce in Assy in the Haute Savoie region: Fernand Léger, Marc Chagall and Georges Rouault. This interest is also expressed in Henri Matisse’s famous stained glass windows for the Rosary Chapel in Vence, and in Alfred Manessier, Braque and Le Corbusier creations.
These windows are similar to item number 9210.
