A striking set of hammered wrought iron andirons and fireplace tools, featuring uprights surmounted by fantastical dragon heads — open jaws, protruding tongues, and twisted horns. The shafts are richly decorated with geometric patterns, raised studs, stylized flowers, and twisted bands. The arched bases end in powerful clawed feet. The set includes: Two sculptural andirons with ornamental columns, A crossbar with engraved motifs, Three hanging fireplace tools (shovel, tongs, poker), each adorned with a flower-shaped medallion. Engraved signature: “E. LARCHEVÊQUE à Mehun (Cher)” Mehun-sur-Yèvre, in central France, was a renowned hub for artistic ironwork in the 19th century. A rare and complete French ensemble from the late 19th century, blending neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance aesthetics with a strong medieval fantasy influence.
