Dominique ALONZO (actif 1910-1930), Japanese style bedside lamp, made of biscuit, spelter and glass globe, representing a Japanese woman holding a lantern

Japanese-style bedside lamp made out of spelter with golden paint and biscuit for the face and hands, in the tradition of statues called "chryselephantines" (term coming from the Greek chrysos (χρυσός) meaning "gold" and elephántinos (ελεφάντινος) meaning " ivory "). She wears the traditional kimono dress tied by a large belt tied at the back called obi and her elaborate hairstyle is traditional in Japan.
Dominique Alonzo is a sculptor born in Paris, a student of Falguière. He worked Bronze, Marble and Ivory and exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in 1912 and 1926.
