This modern fireback was made in the 20th century and represents King Charles VII on horseback. The upper right corner is decorated with the French coat of arms surmounted by a knight's helm. Inscription "Santa Coloma 1389".

Cast iron fireback with coat of arms of Lorraine, dated 1706

This cast iron fireback presents the arms of Lorraine as worn by the Dukes of Lorraine since the 16th century. The coat of arms in the center is no longer very legible but one can guess the arms of Leopold I (1679 - 1729) revealing the different titles he bore: King of Jerusalem, Naples, Hungary and Aragon; Duke of Anjou and Bar, of Gelderland and Juliers. The arms are surmounted by a crown relating to his status and encircled by a pair of standing eagles with the Lorraine cross around their necks. The plaque is dated 1706.

Louis XV style fireback " The aristocrats and the beggar"

This fireback was made of cast iron in the late 19th century. It is adorned with a scene where are standing two artistocrat women as show their riche dresses, facing a beggar. The characters a framed by an important Rococo decoration where are mixed acanthus leaves, volutes and shells.

Louis XV style fireback decorated with a triumphal scene of a goddess

Made in the 20th century in cast iron, this fireback is decorated with a triumphal scene of a goddess. The goddess, seated in the centre, holds a scarf in her hand which flies above her and haloed her. Next to her, a small angel is flying, one hand raised and holding a branch in her hand. Both figures are framed by vegetal scrolls and surmounted by a shell of acanthus leaves.
