Four-sided guéridon in ebonized wood, dating from the late 19th century. It features two tiers adorned with faience tiles decorated with Iznik-inspired polychrome floral patterns, characterized by arabesques, palmettes, and stylized flowers in shades of blue, red, green, and yellow. The upper top integrates a faience panel bearing the painted marks "HF" and "D146" on the reverse. The lower shelf (stretcher) features a second faience panel. This piece bears on the back the impressed stamp of the Parisian manufactory: "Maison PICHENOT, J. LOEBNITZ Successeur, Faïences Architect[urales], Rue des Trois Bornes".
Jules Loebnitz (1836-1895) took over his father's manufactory (founded by Pichenot in 1833), which originally specialized in uncrackable faience panels for fireplaces. Loebnitz distinguished himself in architectural ceramics and notably collaborated with the architect Paul Sédille for the 1878 World's Fair in Paris. The use of Hispano-Moorish and Iznik-inspired motifs on this piece reflects the Orientalist movement prevalent in the manufactory's production during the last quarter of the 19th century.
