This cast iron fireback was made in the 19th century. It is a moulding of an original fireback conserved in the Musée Lorrain in Nancy and of which the armorials has been changed.
Our fireback is decorated with armorials almost erased under a Marquis crown and encircled by a plants crown hold by two greyhounds. A decoration of archs resting on Corinthian columns comes to frame the whole and surmount a motif of mascaron and horns of plenty. We can also read the inscription "De cousance de 3 AVLLT. 1581"
