In good condition. One stain on the shelf and one on the frieze. The sides are restored.
This very beautiful antique Regency style fireplace was made during the 19th century out of white Carrara marble. The fireplace's entablature is elaborately carved with a large foliaged shell in its centre from which realistic foral wreaths fall. The slightly rounded jambs are carved in low relief with a large curve, giving birth to little acanthus leaves towards the top.
The sides of the fireplace are paneled and decorated with beautiful air vents.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert but without any marble floor. A marble floor could be made to order.
