This very beautiful Louis XV style mantel was made of Carrara marble in the late 19th century.
The serpentine entablature receives on its center a splendid shell in an abundant surrounding of acanthus leaves. From this shell, starts an oblong moulding that goes down the jambs. Slightly cruved, they also show a very beautiful decor composed of small shells, flowers garlands and palms.
This fireplace comes with an antique cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
