19th century.

This splendid Louis XVI style mantel was made of statuary marble in the 19th century.
It is inspired by the mantel model set in the Silver Room of Marie-Antoinette in the Fontainebleau castle, drawn by the architect Pierre-Marie Rousseau in 1786. Indeed, we find on the jambs of our mantel two small quivers sculpted in high relief risen with gold painting. The mantel whole also presents an elegant sculpted decoration. The slightly curved entablature is adorned with a ribbon frieze framed with pearls and flanked by sqaure roses in the corners. The jambs that are supporting it also present in addition of the quivers, a large scroll covered with a beautiful acanthus leaf, a ribbon frieze and small coiling above the feet.

This fireplace comes with an antique cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
