This beautiful and fine antique Louis XVI style fireplace was made during the 19th century out of a semi-statuary Carrara marble. The semi-statuary Carrara marble is of great quality and very white, scattered in places with fine pale gray veining.
This fireplace is a rare find. The jambs are made up of half fluted and cable columns, that are crowned by a capital with acanthus leaves. The entablature is an example of great carving work: fine intertwining foilage.
This fireplace is sold with its original three square metres hearth but without any fireplace insert (which can be made to order).
