This large and beautiful antique Regence style fireplace was made out of Arabescato marble in the 19th century. The white marble subtly veined with blue-gray highlights the beautiful sculptures of this fireplace. The curved entablature is adorned with a large foliated cartouche on both sides of which are carved flowers.
The heads of the frieze have windings from which large leaves of acanthus escape. The frieze is supported by two tapered and curved console legs adorned with palmettes and flowers.
The top shelf is made of a single piece of marble, which is a real tour de force given the dimensions of this fireplace.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
