This gilded overmantel features a large central palmette. This openwork palmette is surrounded by acanthus leaves with sinuous lines that hug the top of the overmantel. At the end of these leaves are blossoming and budding flowers. The overmantel's frame resembles a large molding, with identical branches of flowers at regular intervals. At the bottom of the overmantel, acanthus leaves curl around themselves.
