This exceptional antique Regence style fireplace was made out of carved oak in the late 19th century. The lower part of the fireplace is inspired by the famous fireplace that decorates the Hercules Salon in the Versailles Palace. The center of the frieze is adorned by Hercules' head wearing the skin of the Nemean lion, carved in high relief. On both sides are represented two cornucopias with realistic flowers and fruits.
The upper part is finely decorated as an overmantel frame for an Aubusson tapestry made by the Manufacture Hamot. Crowned by a semicircular arch, this pier is richly carved with cartridges, foliage, flowers and friezes.
