Impressive carved stone vase in the Louis XVI style, featuring refined and symmetrical ornamentation typical of the neoclassical aesthetic.
The fluted body stands on a moulded square base. The bowl is decorated with a string-of-pearls frieze and flanked by large handles in the shape of intricately sculpted ram heads.
A pyramidal lid is highlighted by a sculpted bow in relief.
This piece demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship, particularly in the treatment of the horns, fleece and foliage.
