Pair of Medici-form garden urns in cast iron, each resting on a moulded square base. The flared ovoid body, encircled by a wide collar with a gadrooned frieze, rises from an annulated baluster pedestal. Both urns are fitted with a drainage hole at the base, confirming their use as garden planters. The cast iron retains its original blue-green painted surface, now heavily flaking and partially lifting to reveal successive layers of earlier paint, lending the ensemble an authenticity of patina characteristic of garden urns with long outdoor use. The two pieces differ slightly in their proportions, one being noticeably wider than the other.
