This beautiful period Louis XV fireplace made out of a very elegant combination of walnut and beech wood. The shape remains sober, similar to the Louis XIV style, but the subtly curved entablature is typical of the Louis XV style. The entablature is adorned with a central feature of a shell from which stylized foliage emerge. Both ends are decorated with delicate branches. The jambs rise to a slight curve and are carved with molded panels decorated with festoons.
The shelf and sides are beechwood.
