This Louis XVI style fireplace in Turquin marble was carved in the 19th century. It presents a straight protruding lintel carved with a frieze of flutes with cabling. On both sides, the dices are adorned with square moldings. The moulded jambs follow a gentle curve, ending in scrolls at the top.
The Turquin blue marble used here was very popular in the 18th century. This fireplace was made in a dark variety, a particularly dark hue that goes perfectly with the sobriety of the carved ornamentation.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert and with its marble floor, which is broken but will be restored in our workshop.
