A Napoleon III style clock made out of porcelain and gilded bronze representing Bacchus, god of wine

This beautiful clock was made out of porcelain and gilded bronze during Napoleon III period. The porcelain dial indicates the hours with Roman numerals. It is decorated with gilded rinceaux and little enameled pearls. Under the dial, there is an open-air scenery. Three characters (two young women and a young man with a dog are playing next to a nearby river. The sides of the clock are also decorated with similar sceneries including a goat and a sheep.The clock is crowned by a young Bacchus sat on a barrel and holding a bunch of grapes and a goblet. It has a beautiful ornamentation made out of chiseled and gilded bronze with a frame imitating wood planks covered with vine branches. The bottom of the clock is decorated with a quiver, an arc and a torch framed by a garland of flowers.

Louis XV style fireback "Blacksmith Putto"

This fireback was made of cast iron in the 19th century. It shows a Louis XV style decoration on the center of which was depicted a blacksmith putto leaning on his hammer. All around him, the volutes, the crown of flowers and the acanthus leaves seem to be dancing.

Fireback with the Arms of France

Made of cast iron in the 20th century, this fireback is decorated with the coat of arms of France crowned in an encouragement of laurel branches. The date 1690 is inscribed on the top of the fireback.
