This beautiful antique Napoleon III style fire fender in gilt bronze and brown patina bronze was made in the 19th century. On the andirons, two winged lions with a noble look and a raised head are sitting. This motif is characteristic of the Napoleon III style and the line of their wings is imbued by the wave of Egyptomania present in the arts since the beginning of the century. They are linked by a central bar decorated at its center with a human mask from antic Greece theater.
