A plaque adorned with an allegorical scene depicting Cupid tied to a tree by two nymphs, based on a neoclassical model popularized by Angelica Kauffman at the end of the 18th century. This subject, from the cycle known as Cupid and the Graces, was widely disseminated through engraving before being adopted in the decorative arts of the 19th century.
