This pair of Louis XVI style andirons was made in the 19th century.
The patinated bronze base highlights the rosette patterns and a beautiful carved gilt bronze decoration.
Around obelisks summoned with pineapples are arranged the attributes of Arts on a bed of roses.
On the left, music, poetry and literature are represented by trumpets, the crown of laurels and books. A compass completes the decor, evoking architecture.
To the right, a palette and its brushes symbolize painting, while the dance of a bacchante figure dance and theater. The architecture is still evoked by measuring tools.
