Mantel carved in statuary Carrara marble in the second half of the 19th century. The entablature is decorated with a frieze of waves on a background of foliage ending in a double acanthus leaf. Square rosettes adorn the ends. The jambs are slightly curved in a console shape and adorned with falling acanthus leaves and ribbon friezes.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
