This exceptional Regence style fireplace was made in the 19th century out of a beautiful piece of Sarrancolin Fantastico marble, a type of marble known for its veins and its pink and beige shades. A Regence style ornamentation is present all over this mantel. The moulded top rests on a serpentine front carved with a foliated shell that is richly decorated with acanthus leaves and floral patterns. The jambs are ornamented with windings and the endblocks are carved with fine acanthus leaves. The cast iron insert is richly decorated with scrolls and a large foliated shell on a lattice pattern background.
This fireplace comes with its original cast iron insert and with its original three squares marble floor.
