This very beautiful Louis XV style fireplace was made during the 19th century out of Carrara marble. Its carved décor is inspired by the model know as the “three shell model”, expressed here with a stylized shell surrounded by fleshy acanthus leaves on the front of the entablature. The jambs are delicately sculpted with volutes at the top and at the bottom.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
