This original mantel was made in the late 18th century of Arabescato marble.
Made in the Louis XVI style as indicates its straight lines, it receives a polychromatic decoration thanks to the inlay of colored marbles pieces. Indeed, the entablature receives two rectangular slabs of Vert de Mer marble that come to frame a sculpted decoration in slight relieg depicting a Louis XVI style vase, itself decorated with small pieces of this same marble and pearls of Royal Red marble. The fluted jambs receive in their lower part Pink Brocatelle marble sticks. While the articulation between them and the entablature are adorned with squared slabs of Yellow Brocatelle marble.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
