This is a great classic of the Louis XV style. Here, the curves and counter curves play a predominant role, but the composition remains symmetrical and clean.
The jambs are canted, with scrolled capitals decorated with shells, delicately curved and moulded. The curved frond is underlined by a baguette in relief running down to the floor and decorated with a central motif of a shell surrounded by volutes. This motif repeated tree times among the entablature gives this Louis XV style mantel its name.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but these could be made to order.
