This solid walnut fireplace was realized in the 19th century. It was the time of Neo-Renaissance style fashion.
The wood is richly carved with various ornaments :
The entablature, ornamented with olive branches in low-relief is topped by a wide heavily gadrooned shelf ; beneath a large trapezoidal panelled walnut hood, centered with a parchment cartridge painted with a salamander surrounded by flames in shades of yellow-orange. The endblocks are carved in high-relief on each angles with lion masks.
The jambage is made of detached colums, topped by capitals with florets and a shaft carved with ivy on the upper part and fluted in the lower part, resting on footblocks.

This fireplace is sold without its fireplace insert in ceramic tiles, nor marble floor but could be made to order.
