Napoleon III oak paneled room from the 19th century. A sober and elegant decor of moldings and shells beautifully enhance the warm hued oak panels. Two painted imitation marble wood consoles are set under mirrors. The mirror between the windows (see pictures) is framed with garlands of flowers, acanthus leaves and shells. The consoles have wood bases with refined imitation marble treatment and marble shelves. The plaster molded cornice above the paneling was not salvaged. We have preserved some pieces to use as a model. The room is 22feet long by 13feet 4inches wide. The main doorway is 98½ inches high by 105½ inches wide. The windows are 56”½ wide.
