This fireplace is characterized by its fine details on the entablature and legs. Finely carved acanthus leaves run the length of the band, twisting and curving to form sinuous lines. These lines originate from a central acanthus leaf, from which the entire band is symmetrically organized. The console part of the leg is decorated with a floral motif of acanthus leaves and a central bud, a typical Louis XVI motif. A ribbon motif is carved at the top of the legs, with laurel and oak leaves running the length of the legs. These fireplace motifs are all organized in rectangular frames carved into the marble and outlined by fine moldings, bringing volume and order to the fireplace. Also noteworthy is the small frieze of laurel leaves that adorn the inner contour of the fireplace.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert and with its marble floor.
