This Napoleon III style clock was made in the 19th century. It is a realization of the important bronze-worker Gustave Levy , signed 'S. Levy' above the dial.
On a base in Belgium black marble , a silver bronze sculpture depicts Bacchus lying beside a Bacchante of his procession. Stretched on a bed of ivy falling on the base, the bodies are modeled with precision and grace.
The dial displaying Roman numbers is ornated with harlequins.
